There are racing liveries. And then there is Martini.
White base. Diagonal stripes of blue, red and green. A design so instantly recognisable, so timelessly elegant, that it transcends motorsport entirely — appearing on watches, clothing, architecture and art. No other livery in the history of racing has achieved what Martini achieved: becoming a cultural icon that people who have never watched a race in their lives recognise immediately.
But for those who do watch racing — who understand what those diagonal stripes mean — Martini is something else entirely. It is the sound of flat-six engines screaming through the night at Le Mans. It is the smell of Castrol and rain on Tarmac. It is Porsche at the absolute peak of its powers.
The Partnership That Changed Everything
Martini & Rossi began sponsoring motorsport in the early 1970s — a period when Formula 1 and endurance racing were transforming from gentlemen's pursuits into global spectacles. Their arrival brought something new: a sponsor whose livery didn't just carry a logo but created a complete visual identity so strong it overpowered the car beneath it.
The partnership with Porsche defined both brands forever.
Between 1970 and 1977, the Martini Porsche combination produced some of the most dominant and visually extraordinary racing cars ever built. The 917. The 935. The 936. Each one wearing those diagonal stripes like a declaration of intent — we are here, we are fast, and we are beautiful.
The Porsche 917 — Where the Legend Was Born
If Martini Racing has a spiritual home, it is the Porsche 917 at Le Mans.
The 917 was Porsche's answer to a simple question: what happens when you build a car with absolutely no compromise? The answer was a 4.9-litre flat-twelve engine producing over 580 horsepower in a car weighing just 800 kilograms. It was, by the standards of its era, genuinely dangerous. Drivers spoke of it with a mixture of reverence and fear.
At Le Mans 1970, the Martini Porsche 917 took its first overall victory — driven by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood. The white and blue car crossing the line at dawn, the distinctive Martini stripes catching the early morning light, remains one of the most iconic images in motorsport history.
In 1971, the Porsche 917 returned to Le Mans and dominated completely. The No.22 car — driven by Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep — set a distance record of 5,335 kilometres that stood for 39 years. The Martini livery had reached its apex.
We carry the Porsche 917 No.22 Martini Le Mans 1971 Grille Badge — commemorating this exact victory. Limited to just 917 numbered copies — a deliberate tribute to the car itself. Made in Germany. Available now at The Crestory : Porsche 917 No.22 Martini Le Mans 1971 Grille Badge
The 908/3 — Nürburgring 1971
The same year as the Le Mans triumph, the Martini Racing Porsche 908/3 No.4 — driven by Gijs van Lennep and Helmut Marko — claimed third place at the 1000km Nürburgring. The same drivers. The same diagonal stripes. The same relentless pursuit of victory on one of the world's most demanding circuits.
Our 1:43 scale resin model of the Porsche 908/3 Martini Racing Nürburgring 1971 is limited to just 750 individually numbered pieces worldwide. Available now at The Crestory.
The 936 — Back to Back Le Mans Glory
The Porsche 936 continued where the 917 left off. In 1976 and 1977, the purpose-built Le Mans prototype took back-to-back overall victories at La Sarthe — both in full Martini livery, both driven by Jacky Ickx.
The 1977 victory was particularly remarkable — the No.4 car driven by Jacky Ickx, Jürgen Barth and Hurley Haywood surviving a gruelling 24 hours to cement Martini Porsche as the defining partnership in endurance racing history.

The reason is simple: great design doesn't age. The Martini livery was created at a moment when motorsport and art intersected perfectly — and it has never lost that quality.
For the serious collector, Martini Racing pieces carry something beyond monetary value. They carry memory. They carry the sound of those flat-twelve engines at full song through the Mulsanne Straight at night.
